New cameras announced recently include some potential game-changers.
Two of the new cameras, the Canon EOS 1D X and the Nikon D4 don’t add anything new for landscape photographers. They are designed for sports photography, where very high frame rates are more important than the highest resolution. They feature very sophisticated AF systems for tracking complex moving subjects and good ultra-high ISO performance for shooting fast action in low light. Landscape photographers prefer cameras with the highest resolution available and shoot stationary subjects, normally at low ISO settings. The Canon 1Ds MkIII or 5D MkII and the Nikon D3x or the new D800 still will be more suited to that style of photography.
