Holy Island, Lindisfarne, England

Having previously visited Lindisfarne only on day trips, I decided that the next time we went there, we would stay on the island. The need to use up a gift voucher for a break in the Borders, before it expired, led us to book accommodation on Lindisfarne for a couple of nights afterwards.

We arrived at the causeway just as all the day-trippers were leaving. We were able to linger on the island side of the causeway as the tide came in, taking pictures of the refuges.
