Antarctica does not disappoint. Each day is different, and within each day, the weather changes rapidly. On occasion, the gray and blue landscape gives way to brilliant white and rugged mountains with an incredible blue ocean view.
This was the case in mid-February 2025, when we first visited the South Shetlands and were greeted with a blizzard. While almost always alone, once in a while, another expedition ship appears, as in this scene. Some of the seven rugged mountain peaks along the ridge are reflected in the bay, along with the brilliant blue of the glacier.
