Oldshoremore beach on the North West coast of Scotland is known locally in Gaelic as Am Meallan. It is just less than one kilometre long and is quite narrow with fine white sand. A rocky peninsula of land known as Eilean na h-Aiteig separates this beach from Polin Beach. Oldshoremore is famed for its pristine white sand and gorgeous sand dunes. There is plenty to keep landscape photographers busy for awhile and the sunsets during the winter months are breathtaking.
Polin Beach is also known as Oldshore Beg. It is only 650 metres long but has fine white sand formed from eroded seashells and sandstone. The sea is noted for its turquoise blue colour and there are sand dunes to the rear of the beach that are covered in marram grass.
